The projects are designed to use by themselves,
as worksheets or for absent staff.

PROJECT OUTLINES

As standard the projects follow the design process. Including the extension work, they have enough material in them to last a term. Due to different school timetables and student ability they are designed to be flexible. See the booklets as the main source of material for the projects they are designed for. The worksheets have been designed so they can be used for other projects e.g. plastic theory can be used for other projects using plastics etc. If you don't do these particular projects the material in them can still be used to help you deliver your current curriculum.

The projects have a year group guide but this is not printed on the booklets. This way you can choose which year group you do the project with.

KS3 Guide Booklets

Most projects last a term (1 hour a week) and, as standard, follow the design process.

The projects which last a half term are: the Pen Holder Y7, Smart Materials Y8 and Structures Y9.

The booklets have a lot of material in them and are designed to be flexible. For example, depending on the way you wish to run a project, the design aspects can be left out and theory pages used to support a FPT. There is plenty of material in them so some tasks can be left out depending on the focus. Projects which are only half a term are similar to the others but do not have design pages. If need be the half term projects can last a term if all the extension work is completed.

The answers to the theory questions should be self evident to D&T teachers. However, answers for all booklets are provided on a separete website address available upon request. Please email, write or phone. You must have bought a booklet and be on our records.

Teachers Booklet Tips are available on the Teaching and Learning page
